[RECAP] Launch GoStartupIndonesia

 

Last Thursday, 6th Sept 2018, Valencia from Angel Investor Network Indonesia (ANGIN) was invited  to witness the launch of GoStartupIndonesia platform by Indonesia Creative Economy Agency (Bekraf) and Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI).

Also known as “Government Support for Startups in Indonesia”, it is a common spirit and movement to accelerate the growth of ecosystems that are conducive to startups in Indonesia, especially in the creative economy sector at various levels of the startup cycle. The platform was also a follow up  form of support and development of creative economic startups to encourage access to capital for startup through GoPublic.

In addition, the platform also focuses on boosting the growth of the local investor to invest in local startup.  Through Investor Relation Unit, it will be one of the GSI main concerns.

[RECAP] FoodStartup Indonesia 2018

David and Nadira from ANGIN had the honour of being two of the 30 mentors during the Demo Day of FoodStartup Indonesia by BEKRAF. The 2-day mentorship sessions was followed by the winner announcement the following day.

Over 90 food startups were present this year. Their journey started from months ago by joining the ecosystem that BEKRAF have built. Through this program, startups are exposed to experience, knowledge, and most importantly the stakeholders and ecosystem players.

All 93 of the startups from all over Indonesia received valuable feedback through the mentorship sessions, providing them with the necessary skill sets to pitch on the final day where the top 30 food startups are selected.

Participants on the final day were only given 3 minutes to pitch their unique food and business idea. Present on the final pitch were media and investors, including Salim Group who was represented by Mohammed Salim. Winners are given the chance to connect to to investors and scale up their business.

1st winner   : Comed

2nd winner : Tempe Krezi

About Tempe Krezi: Tempe Krezi is a snack made out of fermented soybean. They have a spicy level with different levels of spiciness.

3rd winner  : Rosalie Cheese

About Rosalie Cheese: Rosalie Cheese produces natural Indonesian cheese. They create cheese with a unique twist on local flavor to suit Indonesian and traditional market.
