ANGIN’s Connector.id workshop on BINUS University

On the morning of Wednesday, July 31st, Emily Izmirian, Jacob Wee and Candice (Jiaying) Li represented Connector.id at a workshop on f how to find funding at BINUS University’s Anggrek campus. The program was attended by over 100 students who are a part of BINUS’ startup incubator.

The presentation highlighted the different locations from which the students could look for funding for their businesses as well as an overview and demonstration of the Connector.id platform. Many students shared their business ideas and struggles in addition to asking about what funding is right for them and how they can acquire it.

Much of the discussion was focused on the different types of capital providers that are in the Indonesian ecosystem and what type and quantity of funding each segment provides. Many students were intent on finding the best way to present their startups to investors to have the highest chance of acquiring funding.

We found this workshop to be both beneficial to the Connector.id team and to the students present. Together, we were able to resolve the confusion regarding funding and the students received guidance on when and where they should consider fundraising. Hopefully, we can conduct more workshops with BINUS to help support the university startup ecosystem within Indonesia.
