With its strong brand and extensive database of startups, ANGIN was able to receive responses from over 150 SMEs across Indonesia submitting their interests. Due to limited capacity, ANGIN team screened the applications and choose 39 participants to attend the event. These participants representing 22 SMEs in Jabodetabek area from various sectors: food and beverages, agritech, edutech, arts and crafts, and fashion.

Customized Learning Modules

From the analysis of the participants’ profile on the process of sourcing and screening, ANGIN team was able to tailor the learning modules, method, and content. There were knowledge sharing of fundraising from both the perspective of investment network, crowdfunding, and angel investors itself. Participants also get the experience of pitch deck making and a direct 1-on-1 consultation session.

Networking Opportunities

Beyond learning, ANGIN also invited two angel investors from its proprietary network, which are Krishnan Menon (Endeavor Entrepreneur and Founding CEO of Fabelio) and Iwan Murty (CEO of Research & Business Consulting, and Advisor of Star4Hire). Their presence was a huge opportunity for the participants to network with angel investors and other ecosystem players.

One-on-One Consultation

Faizal Purwanto (Crowdfunding Campaign Manager of Akseleran) was also invited and be one of the judges of the pitching simulation.

Spotlight Showcase

The winning SMEs from the pitching simulation (Dailywell, Mixo, and AftaBionic), will have the chance to be showcased in the ANGIN’s Spotlight which aims to share stories about the selected local Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to public and ecosystem players within ANGIN's network (organizations, key players, investors, development agencies, government, etc). This spotlight can lead to potential collaboration in growing the entrepreneurship ecosystem, including SME development.

Participants were enthusiastically engaged during the whole sessions. “This training session was more comprehensive than other events I have attended. We now have a better understanding about angel investors”, said one participant. Another one added that, “it is important to have a 1-on-1 consutation session with ANGIN’s team like this, as each SME has different issues to be discussed.”

From a good experience with the event, ANGIN team look forward to collaborating with more organizations engaging in SMEs or startup development in Indonesia.
