Startup Business Summit 2019 on AIS Forum

ANGIN in partnership with UNDP and Coordinating Ministry of Maritime Affairs will organize “Startup Business Summit 2019”  (AIS SBS 2019) as a part of AIS Forum. AIS SBS aims to promote smart and innovative solutions to challenges faced by AIS Forum participating countries through collaboration between startups, established businesses, investors, and governments in the sector of blue economy.

Theme: Natural Beauty and Prosperity: Marine Ecotourism Opportunity

The theme is used as a concrete form of the application of the blue economy in the AIS Forum participating countries. The hope is that the marine ecotourism sector can bring economic benefits to communities at tourist destinations and serves as a vehicle for efforts to preserve marine protected areas.

In general, participants who are targeted to attend the AIS Forum and 2019 AIS SBS are all actors and supply chains of the ecotourism industry, from the main sector to the supporting sectors. Among them are startups, established businesses, investors, non-governmental and community institutions and governments. In addition, the 2019 AIS SBS will work with youth groups, students, and public figures to attract visitors to the expo arena and increase public awareness of the potential of marine ecotourism.

It will be held from October 30 to November 1, 2019, Manado, North Sulawesi, Indonesia.
Jl. Laksda John Lie, Titiwungan Utara, Kec. Sario, Manado, North Sulawesi. 

AGENDA OF ACTIVITIES

The activities of the 2019 AIS Startup and Business Summit will be classified into three main components, namely:

● Business and Innovation Exhibition (Innovation and Business Expo)
The purpose of the activity is to bridge cooperation between ecotourism business community and facilitate investment and transactions between investors and the marine ecotourism business. The categories of products to be displayed are; 1) Marine Innovation; 2) Product Experience; 3) Product Retailing; 4) Institutions (NGOs, governments, communities); 5) Marine Arts; 6) Food and Culture.

●  Conference on Marine Ecotourism
The aim of this activity is to create a facility to increase the capacity of marine ecotourism business community and as an arena for exchanging insights on the application of blue economy in the AIS Forum participating countries.

●  The activities of this meeting which will coincide with the AIS SBS 2019 agenda are;

    • ○  The Launch of the Blue Economy Development Index (BEDI), Code of Conduct,

      and Blue Bond Framework

    • ○  Welcoming Event (Welcoming Dinner and Reception)
    • ○  Opening Ceremony
    • ○  Exhibition tour for VIP (VIP Expo Tour)
    • ○  Marine tourism (Ocean trip)
